Depends on the user, but crippling speed is worse than energy drain |

SSJ3 no contest. "Whats the use of having incredible raw strength if you can't even catch your opponent. " "In the world of kung fu speed determines the winner, when every other factors are stabilized" |

Speed has always been more important than everything else in Z. Not so important it blocks everything else out, but the top priority with raw power. |

USSJ is weak, having so speed in a fight results in a complete stomp at equal levels. |

That's not always true. Golden Oozaru Baby was clearly slower than SSJ4 Goku, this was stated, but he was stronger |

Is there a statement he was slower? And even if it isn't, GT remains non cannon to the original manga so it doesn't really have to do with the cannon part. |

Episode 36 Time: 12m25s Context: Kibitoshin and Elder Kaioshin observe the fight Kibitoshin: “Apparently, Goku-san has the greater speed.” Elder Kaioshin: “But as hulking as Baby is, his power has him winning… If he catches him, he’s out.” Note: In the dub, Elder Kaioshin speaks in a more vague way, saying that the battle could sway either way. Pyrus's post explains. And I know GT is non-canon, but if the speed difference isn't too big and they have power on their side, it makes sense they can pull off a win. But a huge speed disadvantage can't be remedied |

Alright thanks for the quote Pyrus. But like i said before GT is non cannon to the manga at all unfortunantly, we were shown what happens when you have greater speed than the other twice, both Trunks vs Cell and Buff Cell vs Gohan. Or it could be Goku was just a tad bit faster and Baby a tad bit stronger which would make up things. Edit: remember that this is an equal battle. Edited by Majin Vegeta, Nov 2 2014, 12:38 PM.

The thing about Trunks and Cell's fight is that although Trunks wasn't able to hit Cell at all, we don't know what Cell's attacks would've done to Trunks. Cell did say Trunks "far surpassed" him in power, after all (obviously talking about his suppressed level, but nonetheless), so it may have been that he wouldn't have been able to inflict damage to the Saiyan beyond a highly amplified attack, which we didn't know he had other than the Kamehameha, and we already saw that belittled by Piccolo at the Ginger Town encounter. |

Wasn't Cell punching and kicking Trunks like a doll? Not sure it's been a while since i read that part of the manga. |

Cell wasn't attacking, only dodging. He was teaching Trunks a lesson. |

I see, i must had it mixed up with the anime, i guess you are implying Cell's punches and kicks would not have affect Trunks right? Well i can agree with that, but having lower speed than an opponet who is equal to you in power means you loses, and that's what the topic says. |
